- Servings: 8
Ingredients
- For the Pie Crust:
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- For the Filling:
- 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) 🧈
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves or chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Pie Crust:
- If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. Trim and crimp the edges as desired.
- Make the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn syrup, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Add Pecans:
- Gently fold in the pecan halves or chopped pecans into the filling mixture.
- Assemble the Pie:
- Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading the pecans evenly.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. If the crust edges start to brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing. This will help the filling set properly.
- Serve at room temperature or slightly warmed. Enjoy with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired! 🍦
Notes
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- For an extra touch, consider adding a tablespoon of bourbon to the filling for a richer flavor.
